Mary Louise Main

Mary Louise Main passed away in Fountain Hills, Ariz. on Monday March 23, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born Mary Louise Venneman in Wein, Mo. on Aug. 18, 1924.

Mary attended DePaul Hospital School of Nursing WWII Cadet Nursing Program, graduating in 1945. When her husband returned from the service they relocated to Chicago, Ill.

In Chicago she graduated with a BSN in nursing from Loyola University in 1963. Mary continued her education with a Master’s in education from the National College of Education.

She was involved in many aspects of nursing from Hines Veterans Hospital to Joslyn Clinic, from industrial nursing to DuPage County Health Department. Mary finished her career as a public school nurse with Hinsdale South High School.

Enjoying life’s journey with her was her high school sweetheart and husband Keith. They were married in 1945 in Walla Walla, Wash.

Together for the past 69-plus years they lived in and around the Chicago area and retired to Oro Valley, Ariz. in 1989. Not staying idle for long, Mary volunteered for many years at Northwest Hospital, Oro Valley. She enjoyed the Arizona desert, quilting, reading, coin collecting and cooking.

Mary is survived by her husband Keith; daughter Joyce and her husband, Tracy, and three grandchildren she adored Matthew, Darby and Connor. Also a host of many valued friendships.
