Mary Pulcino, 83, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2014 in Scottsdale.

Mary was born on March 7, 1931 in New York, N.Y., the daughter of Giacomo Maniaci and Carmela (Abbate) Maniaci.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Michael Pulcino; and six brothers, Joseph, Tony, Leo, Frank, Eddie and Jimmy Maniaci. She is survived by her two sisters, Gloria Petrone and Margaret Leonetti; son, Michael (Angela) Pulcino; daughter, Laura (Gregory) Krajewski; grandson, Joey Pulcino; granddaughters, Erika Krueger and Michelle (Landon) Conarty; great-granddaughter, Kadence Annala; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary and her husband Mike moved from New York to southern California in 1959, where they raised their family. She was active in the Catholic Church and later in life became a real estate agent in Apple Valley, Calif. Following the death of her husband, Mary relocated to Fountain Hills to be near her daughter and son-in-law in 2003.

In 2012, due to failing health, she left her Fountain Hills home for an assisted living residence in Scottsdale.

Mary was an avid reader and published author. She enjoyed sharing her life experiences through her writings.

She was so grateful for all the assistance that was provided to her as her health declined and she routinely expressed her gratitude in her local newspaper.

Mary adored her children and grandchildren, and it was clear that family was the most important thing to her. She had a kind heart, warm spirit and loving nature. Mary was a unique and special woman who will be missed forever by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mary will be remembered in a memorial service on Saturday, May 10, at 3 p.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.
