OPINION — I hope that Mayor Friedel's apology to Beth Culp following her defamation lawsuit against him is seen by all residents of Fountain Hills. His behavior towards Beth Culp is shameful.
His "apology" reeks of insincerity. He admits falsely accusing her of threatening the President (something that could have caused great personal consequences, including making a target of her). Yet he states “if there was any injury or damage to Ms. Culp from this, that is regrettable.” Regrettable? He doesn't see the harm? He admits falsely attributing offensive posts to her which he himself had actually posted and falsely accusing her of campaign finance violations.
