McDowell plans Christmas Eve (Eve) service

McDowell Mountain Community Church is bringing the message of Christmas to Fountain Hills this year with a Christmas Eve (Eve) Community Celebration.

The first of these unique services will be held Monday, Dec. 23, at 6 p.m. at Fountain Hills High School. Visitors will be quickly caught up in the sounds and spirit of the season through Christmas carols, a video production and a Christmas meditation designed to see how faith and life intersect, especially at Christmas.

A second service will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale. Both services are scheduled for 55 minutes and childcare will be provided for infants through pre-school-aged children.

“Each year, many in our community celebrate Christmas in Christmas Eve services. We’ve always invited the community into our house but, this year, we decided to join our community in the community, at our local high schools,” said Pastor Matt Anderson.

“Most of our regular attenders are from either Scottsdale or Fountain Hills, so it was an easy decision to hold services in these two communities. We are so excited to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve.”

McDowell Mountain Community Church meets at 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. every Sunday morning at their campus located on the corner of 124th Street and Shea Blvd. Sunday morning services feature contemporary music and a practical Bible-centered message designed to engage and empower people as they face unique challenges each week.

The children’s ministry (birth to fifth grade), MountainKIDS, is designed to partner with parents, building a foundation of faith in local children. The student ministry (6th-12th grade), StudentLife, impacts over 100 students each week from Fountain Hills and Scottsdale. Each summer, StudentLife takes 150-plus students to various camps and mission trips around the country and in the Dominican Republic.

McDowell Mountain Community Church is a Christ-centered church that desires to gather the people, turn hearts and minds toward God and love others with no strings attached. For more information call 314-2400 or visit MMCCaz.com.
