The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will provide citizens with a brief update on the credit card fraud cases possibly related to the Bashas’ Corporation.

Early this year the Sheriff’s Office received dozens of reports of credit card fraud that were attributed state wide to a security breach associated with Bashas’ grocery stores.

Locally the Sheriff’s Office interviewed victims and forwarded the reports to the FBI.

Capt. Joe Rodriquez said he will have a brief discussion of the case as part of his quarterly update to residents in the community.

Rodriquez said he would continue to urge people to monitor their bank statements carefully and in a timely manner to watch for unauthorized transactions, many of which were out of state.

The presentation and open house will be held Tuesday, April 23, at the Community Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited.
