MCSO public meeting Saturday
Posted
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will hold the first of its new community outreach meetings this Saturday, Dec. 21, at 9:30 a.m.
The meetings will be held at all patrol districts throughout the county. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
In Fountain Hills the meeting will be for Patrol District 7, and will take place at the Fountain Hills Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana Drive.
District 7 Commander, Capt. Joe Rodriquez, said the Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Jerry Sheridan, a local resident, will preside over the meeting in Fountain Hills.
“It should be business as usual for us,” Rodriquez said. “Many things we are doing in Fountain Hills, such as quarterly community meetings and other community outreach programs will become more prevalent across the rest of the Sheriff’s Office.
“The only other changes for us will be the capturing of more data on traffic stops and some procedural changes to the citizen complaint process.”
The purpose of these court ordered meetings is to answer, where possible, public questions or concerns about the Sheriff’s Office patrol operations. Officials will outline the changes to patrol policy regarding traffic stops and to inform the public of the upcoming changes to policy, training, data collection and records management.
