MCSO says deaths were murder-suicide

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on late Friday indicated the deaths of a married couple in Fountain Hills was a murder-suicide.

The bodies of Lawrence Reed, 45, and Sandra Kualls, 41, were discovered Wednesday morning at their home on Centipede Drive near Grassland in northwestern Fountain Hills.

MCSO media relations spokesman Chris Hegstrom said the deaths appear to be a murder-suicide. Detectives believe Reed used a gun to fatally shoot Kualls and then shot himself. Officially the case remains under investigation.

On Thursday, Hegstrom said investigators were not looking for any outstanding suspects but stopped short of saying the incident was a murder-suicide.
