Senior Services of Fountain Hills, Inc. recently assisted the Town of Fountain Hills Activity Center with a $2,500 donation for a shed to store durable medical equipment loaned by the Activity Center.
The Activity Center established its ongoing durable medical equipment loan program at the Community Center last fall. Since the program was initiated 132 items have been loaned to people needing a temporary medical assist.
“This is one of those small things we can do, providing a place to keep this equipment,” SSI Board President Lynn Strang said. “This program has been available for a while, but an issue they have had is a place to keep the equipment.”

Town Senior Services Supervisor Jennifer Lyons said they are appreciative of the help from SSI.
“This is a great program that is working very well,” Lyons said. “We invite anyone with a need to give us a call.”
The program enables residents to borrow mobility equipment such as walkers, crutches, canes and wheelchairs.
The Activity Center is also accepting donations of equipment from people who have medical equipment they no longer need.
The center will accept new and gently used medical mobility equipment to stock the Medical Equipment Loan Program.
Contact the Activity Center at 480-816-5226 for additional information on borrowing items or to make an appointment for drop off of equipment.
