Meeting minutes establish pending ethics complaints are without merit

The minutes of the chaotic Jan. 21 Town Council meeting, now available for review on the town’s website, establish that the pending ethics complaints against Councilmembers Kalivianakis and McMahon lack merit.

The term “super legislator” introduced by Councilmember Kaliviankis is not, as claimed in the pending complaints, a pejorative. Similarly, referring to a council member as “inexperienced” six weeks into his first term, is not demeaning or degrading.

Councilmember McMahon was justified in sharing her concerns that Watts lacked the judgment and temperament to serve effectively as a liaison based on statements he made to her as well as the intemperate conduct she directly observed.
