My husband and I attended the wonderful Memorial Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Fountain Park.
What an inspiring message given by Susan Kee, Korean War veterans advocate. The additional message regarding support and donations needed for the upkeep on the memorial got me to thinking. Why not install a secure (maybe something like the locked, heavy posts used at our National Park campgrounds) donation box near the arch in an easily visible place for spontaneous donations? I, for one, would not be surprised by the generosity of our friends, neighbors and visitors to Fountain Hills.
