A huge thank you from all the stray cats of Fountain Hills and all of the folks affiliated with Fearless Kitty Rescue for your support during the recent Republic Services Rewards $10,000 grant award program. You have overwhelmed us with your support and we appreciate your confidence in the work we do.

The $10,000 grant will enable us to continue to provide much-needed assistance to Fountain Hills residents who have found or lost a cat, to advise on how to deal with “nuisance” cats in the neighborhood, and to take in stray cats and ready them for adoption. The latter includes spay/neuter surgery, any necessary medical care, ongoing care and feeding, microchipping and adoption expenses.

To date, we’ve saved 50 cats by taking them off the streets of the Fountain Hills community and placed them up for adoption. We’ve also helped notify the public of lost cats by posting alerts on Facebook and assisting with searches.

This year’s contest was quite close and over 2 million rewards points were voted during the voting period! That’s a heck of a lot of recycling, videos watched and quizzes taken. We want to acknowledge each of the organizations that participated in the Rewards contest: the Fountain Hills Youth Theater, Rescue Pals, River of Time Museum and the Verdes Community Christmas Project. Thank you for all that you do to make our communities so special. We encourage the readers to support these organizations throughout the year.

Again, thank you so very much for your support of Fearless Kitty Rescue. We look forward to thanking you personally when you come visit us on the Avenue of the Fountains!
