Mildred “Millie” Lobb was born on Feb. 16, 1943 in Hamtramck, Mich. She grew up in Farmington, Mich., where she attended school and graduated the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1993 with a master’s degree in social work.

Millie worked as a member of the Hartland Genesis Alternative Education staff as a social worker from 1999 until retiring in 2006.

Millie and her husband of 57 years, Doug traveled between their summer home in Central Lake, Mich. and as snowbirds to Fountain Hills for the winters.

She loved square dancing and line dancing, baking, gardening, sewing and making stained glass. Millie was “Jitterbug,” a clown with the Shepherd of the Hills Clown Ministry in Fountain Hills. She won gold medals in AZ Senior Olympics Dancers and blue ribbons for her orchids in the Ann Arbor Orchid Society.

Millie and Doug square danced every week.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Jeff Teeples and the staff and members at Shepherd of the Hills for their support and help during this difficult time. Also, thanks to the Top of the Line Dancers for their remembrance of Millie.
