The L. Alan Cruikshank River of Time Museum will offer free admission to all military personnel and their families through Labor Day.

The museum is participating with Blue Star Museums 2013, a partnership of over 800 museums offering free summer admission to members of the military and their families.

The River of Time Museum will grant free admission to the member of any service branch including active Reserve and National Guard members when they present their military I.D.

All family members accompanying them will also be admitted at no charge.

“Being a Blue Star member is one way our museum has of thanking our military personnel and their families for their service and sacrifice,” said Debbie Skehen, president of the museum.

The museum and River Bank Store summer hours are Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Because we know a service member has limited time off, if they phone ahead we’ll make every effort to accommodate them at their convenience,” Skehen said.

The museum features many exhibits that detail the area’s history from pre-historic times through the present and shows how development was possible through time because of water resources.

The museum also has the finest and largest amethyst crystal on display anywhere in the United States.

The museum and its store are located in the Fountain Hills library/museum building, 12901 E. La Montana Drive.
