The Town of Fountain Hills has added Grady Miller to its staff as the administrative services director. He has been on the job about two weeks.

Miller holds his bachelor’s degree in public administration from San Diego State University and his MPA from Arizona State University.

He had a 20-year career with the City of Peoria (Arizona) where he held jobs as the assistant to the city manager, director of public affairs and communications and was deputy director in the Community Services Department.

After working at Peoria Miller moved east where he served as town manager for Narragansett, R.I. and after two and one half years in Rhode Island he returned to Arizona taking the job in Fountain Hills.

The primary duties for Miller at Town Hall will be overseeing human resources and risk management. His duties will also include assisting Town Manager Ken Buchanan with various projects and assignments.

Miller said one of his projects during his tenure with Peoria was the public art program. He said he is very impressed with the Fountain Hills collection.

“I like the donation component,” Miller said. “This is a very good collection considering the size of the town.”

Miller is living in Phoenix with his wife, who will be returning from Rhode Island shortly. They have a daughter, 25, who works with the Arizona Department of Education.

“Fountain Hills is a great town,” Miller said. “It has so much going for it.”
