Ministries sponsor science and Bible seminar Saturday
Posted
The Fountain Hills Christian Ministerial Association will host a seminar,
“Science and the Bible…What you are NOT being told,” from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 24, at Christ’s Church of Fountain Hills.
There will be a break during the seminar with free refreshments. The public is invited.
Guest speaker for the free seminar will be Dr. Rick Oliver. He has a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of California, Fullerton, and a master’s of science and Ph.D. in biology from the University of California, Irvine.
He is a member of the American Federation of Herpetoculturalists, the California Science Teachers Association, and the New York Academy of Science.
“Many scientists claim to have the answers to the origin of life on earth. What we aren’t being told is that true science overwhelmingly denies their claims. Faith in the Genesis account is supported scientifically. I have had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Oliver speak. He does an outstanding job of addressing the creation issue from a scientific mind set,” said Pastor Rick Ponzo of Calvary Chapel Fountain Hills.
First Baptist Church pastor Tony Pierce commented that “the foundational truth in the creation account of Genesis is literal and sets the basis for all truth found in the Scripture, including that Jesus is the Christ the only Son of God and the only Savior for mankind.”
Christ’s Church Pastor Don Lawrence shared, “It’s a pleasure to gather with Christians of various denominations and traditions and focus on our common faith which is grounded in scripture. There are many things which can divide us, but Jesus and the Bible unify us.”
Christ’s Church is located at 15555 E. Bainbridge Avenue, at the corner of Bainbridge and Glenbrook Avenues.
