Local artist Judith Rothenstein-Putzer will be teaching a mixed media and collage workshop on Thursday, July 16, in Scottsdale.

It will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Gallery at el Pedregal, 34505 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale.

The cost of the workshop is $45; no experience necessary.

Let loose with a fun session exploring color, texture and a host of media and learn how to put it all together into one cohesive work.

Students will learn how to make their own stamps, translucent papers, acrylic transfers, resist and more. The instructor will provide white school glue, rubber cement, hot glue, stamp-making material, collage papers and wax.

An additional supply list will be provided to students upon registration.

Rothenstein-Putzer has been engaged in mixed-media projects since long before she even knew there was a name for it; gathering new techniques to add to her repertoire over the years.

She has exhibited in the Phoenix metropolitan area and is currently an artist in residence at The Gallery at el Pedregal.
