I guess you folks at The Times realize that your new crime report is a very poor attempt at journalism. Shame on the MCSO for only providing such limited data as we are seeing now.
By the way, I’ve always wanted to see follow-up reports on reported crimes, such as names, crimes accused of, convictions and sentencing information. That is news, and what can The Times do to make it happen?
On another subject, the city, county and state road repair and reconstruction departments really need to hire some competent people as pavement and subgrade inspectors. Recent new asphalt work within Fountain Hills and over on the reservation north of the casino have very rough surfaces.

I’ve worked asphalt on and off since 1964, and any job I was ever on that performed such poor workmanship would have fired the crew and ordered the contractor to redo the work at their cost. City and county/state officials that allow this shoddy work to remain need to be replaced! Where are the pride and professionalism?
If these folks need a pavement quality test vehicle, I’ve got one and I volunteer to drive it with an inspector on board over the affected roadways.
Last but not least, with an election coming up soon, I notice that we are seeing the same old, same old people running for office. That’s fine, but Fountain Hills really, really needs some new people in office. Not the same people that have been revolving in and out of office and dragging their feet for years.
New ideas and opinions are essential to the advancement and maintenance of our city. Right now, we are definitely not getting our money’s worth.
