A strong thunderstorm rumbled across the Valley Monday evening dumping up to an inch of rain, flooding streets in Fountain Hills and 50-mile per hour wind gust uprooted several trees and ripped limbs from others.
While conditions made for treacherous driving on the trip home there were no reports of accidents or injuries.
An inch of rain reportedly fell at the weather station in Fountain Park where the wind gusts were also recorded.

A strong thunderstorm rumbled across the Valley Monday evening dumping up to an inch of rain, flooding streets in Fountain Hills and 50-mile per hour wind gust uprooted several trees and ripped limbs from others.
While conditions made for treacherous driving on the trip home there were no reports of accidents or injuries.

The rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive collected .70-inch of rain.
The fire station on Palisades Blvd. received just over a half an inch. Up to .75 inch fell on Maricopa County Flood Control District monitoring sites higher in the McDowell Mountains.
