The new Mel Brooks’ musical “Young Frankenstein” continues on stage at Fountain Hills Theater.

There has been such demand from the public that additional shows have been scheduled.

The musical has now been scheduled through Sunday, March 8.

It is an inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend based on Brooks’ classic comedy masterpiece.

The story follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that’s Fronkensteen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life.

Together with his oddly shaped and endearing helper Igor (that’s Eye-gor), his curvaceous lab assistant Inga, and in spite of his incredibly self-involved madcap fiancé Elizabeth, Frankenstein succeeds in creating a monster -- but not without scary and quite often hilarious complications.

The new Mel Brooks’ musical “Young Frankenstein” is produced by Patty Torrilhon and Patricia Tonzi, directed by Peter J. Hill, musically directed by Flora Mogerman and choreographed by Noel Irick.

The production stars Bill Bennett, Chris Fidler, Roy Hunt, Noel Irick, Matt Mcdonald, Darryl W. Poenisch, Roger Prenger, Morgan Ottersbach, Patrick Russo and Janine Smith.

The ensemble features Katy Callie, Jean-Paoul Clemente, Carlee Coulehan, Cristen Fortier, Brittany Foster, Alan Isaacson, Nick Jourdan, Susie Lundy, Kendra Lytle, Stephani Mcdonald, Lew Myers, Deborah Ostreicher, Larah Pawlowski, Tanya Schoenwolf, Jessica Shepler, Ron Tang, Tom Vinopal and Eric S. Williams.

Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Individual tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for children 17 and under. Seniors receive a $5 discount on all Thursday performances. A $3 handling fee is charged for each ticket. Group rates and student rush discounts are available.

All performances are at Fountain Hills Theater on its Mainstage at 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd.

Tickets are available through the Theater Box Office at (480) 837-9661, ext. 3. Box Office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Visit the website at www.fhtaz.org.
