The Town of Fountain Hills has announced the date for the dedication of Sharon Morgan Plaza along the Avenue of the Fountains median.

A brief ceremony and unveiling will be held at the plaza (east end of the Avenue of the Fountains at Saguaro Boulevard) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, with remarks from current Mayor Linda Kavanagh.

Morgan was elected as the first female mayor of the Town of Fountain Hills in 1998 and served a total of four years with her re-election in 2000.

Through her work with the Chamber of Commerce over the past 29 years Sharon, with the Chamber, has grown the fall Fountain Festival and the spring Great Fair into renowned events which have more than 500 artists per show. She has been the key to the success of the two Chamber fairs for more than 25 years.

In honor of her service and dedication to the Town of Fountain Hills, a portion of the Avenue of the Fountain Plazas will be named Morgan Park.

The public is invited to join in celebrating Sharon’s many contributions to the town at the plaza dedication ceremony. Light refreshments will be served.
