I can’t say that I know what really goes on behind the scenes at the local Town Hall, but I have observed some things that seem strange to me.
On the day that candidates were announced for Town Council, the mudslinging began. The first mud ball came in the form of a video (edited and uploaded to a public site by John Kavanagh) which was posted to Facebook on several forums. The old video that was dredged up intended to defame, malign and disparage one of the candidates running for Town Council.
A few days later, the mayor’s husband was personally handing out those videos at a candidate forum sponsored by the Tea Party. Since these candidates are vying for a job to work with his wife, it seemed inappropriate and petty to me. That underhandedness has helped me decide to vote for Mr. Archambault because I am sure that, along with the fact that he’s lived here and contributed to this community since 1972, he isn’t a member of the good ole’ boy network that seems to have been established here.

I have also noticed that there is a small, vocal and very negative group in town who seem to have close ties with the Mayor and her husband. This same group takes credit for bringing Trump to this town, along with all that entailed.
The Mayor has refused to participate in public forums with her challenger, which is another indication of questionable tactics. My vote will be for Ginny Dickey, who has impressed me with her knowledge of the town’s business history and her passion for this town’s residents and its future well-being.
Vote against cronyism and for a more inclusive style of governing.
