Muralists working to beautify Fountain Hills

Painting art on utility equipment

The Town of Fountain Hills continues to improve its public art reputation.

With the expansion of the successful utility box mural program, the town’s commitment to enhancing the local arts scene is solidified. In partnership with the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA), six new vibrant murals will be unveiled throughout downtown Fountain Hills this fall, transforming utility boxes along the Avenue of the Fountains and Palisades into works of art.

Now in its second year, this downtown placemaking initiative celebrates the unique cultural and natural environment of Fountain Hills. Themes include the town’s iconic fountain, dark skies, native animals and the scenic landscapes that make the town a nationally recognized destination. Selected artists Laura Thurbon, Ignacio Garcia and Jesse Perry bring their distinct styles to the project, adding a new layer of beauty and storytelling to public spaces.
