MusicaNova pays tribute to the King of Rock n’ Roll

Fountain Hills-based president discusses upcoming concert

Offering a twist on rock n’ roll royalty, the Phoenix-based professional ensemble MusicaNova will perform “Dead Elvis and Other Gems” at the Musical Instrument Museum on Sunday, March 24, bringing to life the King of Rock-n-Roll in a unique way.

Composed by Michael Daughtery in 1993 and scored for a large orchestra, “Dead Elvis” is a composition that focuses on the iconic figure of Elvis Presley, says MusicaNova president and Fountain Hills resident Robert Leger.

Combining elements of classical music with pop culture references, Leger says “Dead Elvis” explores themes of fame, celebrity culture and rock n’ roll.
