As 2023 winds to a close, it would seem that some of the predictions of the “Prophets of Doom” (read that as MAGA Republications) are themselves doomed.
There is no recession. Inflation is down to 3.1%, unemployment is down to 3.7%, financial markets are at all-time highs and the Fed has stated there will be no more rate hikes in the near future.
Crime is down. Property theft is down 6% and murder is down more than 15%.

The above numbers are facts that can be verified by multiple reputable sources; not speculation from right-wing talking heads on TV. It would be a great habit to get into for 2024: “Trust but verify." (Reagan, I think).
And so if Trump blusters otherwise, it may be that he's talking to Congressman George Santos and/or Kevin McCarthy – wait; that's impossible, but #45 doesn't care!
