The town will observe National Day of Prayer (NDOP) on Thursday, May 2, in the Fountain Park amphitheater.

The service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Complimentary food will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The theme for the eighth local gathering is “Love One Another,” focusing on the seven centers of influence in America: government, military, media arts, business, education, church and family.

Since 1952, similar prayer gatherings have occurred across the county.

Pastor Jeff Teeples, pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, will be the keynote speaker and lead the participants in prayer experiences.

“What better way to show God what is important to us than praying with our neighbors who care about the same things,” said Teeples.

Deacon Dick Smith will moderate the event. The Fountain Hills Ministerial Association organizes the event.
