Native American Center at Fountain Hills High School has high hopes

Marissa Flores smiled on Aug. 13 — a lot.

That’s because Fountain Hills High School’s Native American specialist was presiding over a ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony for FHHS’s new Native American Center.

The former higher-ed coordinator for the Ft. McDowell Yavapai Nation said she’s looking forward to helping develop the center as a drop-in site for Native students, plus the programming, higher-ed and post-secondary assistance and cultural sharing that are planned there.
