Has anyone thanked the two incumbent candidates for their years of service on the Sanitary District, or the two Rotary Clubs for the nearly $100,000 donated annually here in Fountain Hills? How about thanking the Town Council for managing the town finances after the 2007 crash? We should be coming together instead of calling each other names and inferring sinister plots and deeds!

Fountain Hills’ councilmen and women may have businesses. Why question their motives or the morality of one or several of their business associates without proof of wrong-doing? Citizens of Fountain Hills should not be so quick to judge without full knowledge and understanding of an issue. Does everyone like all the things the council does or tries to do? No. Why accuse them of being liars and thieves?

Ask yourself, do I have all the facts on all the issues the Town Council takes up on a weekly basis? Town management requires a good amount of legal knowledge and history to make informed decisions. Become truly informed. It is not proper to accuse one’s motives and the integrity of friends and citizenry who agree, or an organizational membership of wrong doing because they might agree with the council.

I am reminded of Senator Kennedy speaking to a constituent saying that his, “honorable opponent also thinks he has the country’s best interest at heart.” Ask yourself if you have proof before slandering a councilman with malfeasance.

Fountain Hills is a wonderful place to live. The Town Council does not want to make it a terrible place to live. We do need fiscal responsibility. Look at the Town’s budget and ask yourself where the money is going to come from. Get active in a positive way and contribute to the process.
