Neighbors

I love my town of Fountain Hills. When visitors come from back East, I’m asked, “You have any of ‘those’ in here?” My response has always been, “No, I only have neighbors.”

My neighbors might not be white, Catholic, Polish, straight, Republican or even White Sox fans, but they are as precious as family. Their compassion after the atrocity of September 11, 2001 can never be repaid.

The painful loss of our home was lessened by staying in town by an understanding home rental. I thank all involved in showcasing our town on Saturday for a Presidential rally. It saddens me to hear and see the discourse. I lived in Chicago in 1968. I will never forget and neither will the country.

I was there and saw a dozen irate people surrounded by seven or eight cameras and reporters. The line went all around Saguaro and a block further, peacefully but not acknowledged. I am proud of my town of sixteen years and then some. Please keep safe. Take care of yourself and all your neighbors.
