New Arizona law changes schedule for ADOT photo ID updates

Arizona has adjusted the time frame to update photo identification with the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division.

Beginning, Saturday, Sept. 12, the time to update a photo goes from 12 years to 16 years, according to an ADOT release.

“The standard driver license typically expires when a person turns 65, but an updated photo is required to ensure the credential photo resembles you,” ADOT officials stated Tuesday in a release.
