The Fountain Hills Unified School District announced on Wednesday, Feb. 14, that Dr. Richard Rutkowski will serve as the Governing Board replacement to Dana Saar for the remainder of Saar’s term.
Saar resigned from the FHUSD Governing Board on Nov. 9, and Maricopa County School Superintendent Steve Watson had the sole authority to appoint a replacement. Saar’s seat was up for reelection this November, so Rutkowski will serve through December, until new elected board members are installed in January 2025.
Rutkowski will be an active member of the board at the next meeting starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The board will elect a new board vice president shortly after Rutkowski is installed.
