Is passing new laws becoming more important than enforcing them? New laws overlap, are ineffective, counterintuitive, too voluminous to manage and without merit. Are new laws solving or exacerbating the nation’s problems?

Rule of law is the legal principle that law should govern as opposed to being governed by arbitrary decisions of individual government officials. Laws shape our, politics, economics, society and history. Absent the rules of law, civility, liberty and opportunity will perish.

Is passing new laws becoming more important than enforcing them? New laws overlap, are ineffective, counterintuitive, too voluminous to manage and without merit. Are new laws solving or exacerbating the nation’s problems?

Rule of law is the legal principle that law should govern as opposed to being governed by arbitrary decisions of individual government officials. Laws shape our, politics, economics, society and history. Absent the rules of law, civility, liberty and opportunity will perish.

Which direction are your liberties heading?

Is government selectively choosing which laws they will pursue, and defeating the rule of law. One heinous example, among many, is the deaths of veterans awaiting medical attention. Apparently negligent homicide doesn’t violate any laws. Isn’t the amount of money spent a better determinant of legal outcomes than the intent and meaning of the law itself? Are we getting equal justice?

Article III Federal Court Justices are selected on their political/social attributes rather than aptitude. Justices are publically shielded and we hear and know very little about them. The Executive and Legislative branches are scrutinized due to the competition for power and elections. Judges are there for life, for better or worse.

Shouldn’t we at least closely monitor our judges on a frequent basis? Shouldn’t the public know if there are any sitting judges unfit to serve?

Edmund Burke: “Bad laws are the worst sort of tyranny.” What’s been your experience?

Ambrose Bierce: “A nation that will not enforce its laws has no claim to the respect or allegiance of its people.” Is his point valid?

Lady Justice no longer carries a sword representing enforcement power or a scale representing objective standards or the blindfold representing impartial justice without fear or favor.

How do we avoid a societal breakdown and loss of liberties with socialist judicial activism?
