The Town Council has approved a $135,207 contract with Pac Van, Inc. for a modular building to replace the trailer in the street maintenance yard that serves as offices.
The existing modular building, which was purchased used in 1993, will be demolished.
Development Services Director Paul Mood said there will be a short time when the Street Department personnel will need to work elsewhere while the old building is removed and the new one installed.
He said that will not be a problem because most of their work is done in the field.
The contract cost does not include removal of the old structure nor does it include site and utility modifications or furnishings.
The new structure is 1,440 square foot -- 24 feet wide by 60 feet long. It will include offices, storage, restroom, kitchen and open area.
Pac Van is an Indianapolis-based company with a Phoenix office.
