The town has set up a new website for those interested in keeping up with the progress on the Saguaro Boulevard reconstruction project.
In March 2014, the Town Council approved a design contract for the project and the design team has been conducting preliminary investigation to include utility location and survey to aid in the design process.
Design has begun for the Saguaro Boulevard Reconstruction project, which consists of approximately 3.5 miles of full depth pavement reconstruction of the existing roadway from just north of Trevino Drive to Fountain Hills Blvd.

The project also includes replacement of existing extruded curb with new curb and gutter, drainage improvements at the Saguaro Blvd/Palisades Blvd intersection and at three locations along Desert Canyon Golf Course, median modifications at the 3-way stop at Saguaro Blvd/Avenue of the Fountains intersection, and traffic signal replacement at the Saguaro Blvd/Palisades Blvd intersection.
Design and construction of the traffic signal replacement at the Saguaro Blvd/Palisades Blvd intersection will be funded separately through Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funding.
It is anticipated that a public meeting will be held summer 2014 to provide an opportunity for property owners, residents and businesses to view the design plans and provide comments to the design team.
The current schedule for the project includes:
60 percent design – June 2014
Public Meeting – Jul/Aug 2014
100 percent design – September 2014
Construction – Jan 2015 – Sept 2015
