I am pleased with the slate of candidates running for the three seats on our Town Council. Having observed all four, I appreciate the passion and dedication each has shown over the years in making Fountain Hills a better and more enjoyable place to live.
I have known Nick DePorter for the past few years and admire his intelligence, strategic thinking, character and his dedication to his wonderful wife and two young children.

I believe that Nick will bring a fresh perspective if elected to the council with his new ideas and younger mind-set, which is often lacking when people reach 57 years as I have. As hard as I try to “think young,” there is nothing like being young, and walking in the shoes of “young parents” with all of their strenuous time commitments as they try to make everything work.
Many of these parents are in the early stages of budding careers, often have aging parents who need extra time and care, and have children who need a lot of attention! In addition, many of these young families also struggle with financial challenges “just trying to make ends meet.”
Thanks again to our four candidates for putting in the countless time and hours required to run for political office in Fountain Hills. Your efforts are appreciated!
