Nickolette “Nicki” (Stewart) Vosmera, age 63, of Fountain Hills left us for her final journey Oct. 26, 2014.
Born to Patsy and Marvin Stewart on June 14, 1951 in Stillwater, Okla., the family later settled in Wichita, Kan., where Nicki attended school and graduated from North High. She moved to Colorado in 1969, then finally retired to Fountain Hills around 1989.
Travel was one of her favorite things. From the streets of New York on New Year’s Eve in 2000, to Hong Kong, England, Italy, the Caribbean and yearly visits to Hawaii, the world was her playground.
Many memories were made on these trips and, for anyone who traveled with her, those memories and endless stories will keep Nicki in our laughs, our thoughts and our hearts.
Nicki’s father Marvin preceded her in death. Her immediate surviving family is her mother, Patsy (Lee) Stewart of Phoenix; sister, Sheri (Stewart) Wilson of Joplin, Mo.; son, Jason (wife Dawna) Williams of Omaha, Neb.; granddaughters, Emily and Anna Williams of Omaha, Neb.; and daughter, Mandi (Williams) Hogan of Nashville, Tenn.
She had such beauty inside and out and radiated so much more from her smile, warmth and compassion. One of Nicki’s traits was her smile, so when you see one please think of her.
Not only will she be missed, but also fondly remembered. There are many beaches that held Nicki’s footprints, if for only a brief period of time. But unlike the ocean which erases the evidence, let us remember the footprints she left on our souls with her laughter, caring and her beautiful smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Messinger Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Boulevard, Fountain Hills. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: fundraising.stjude.org/goto/Nicki.
