No changes to Fountain Hills school board as election canceled

The Fountain Hills Unified Governing Board won’t change when swearing in for new four-year terms takes place in January of next year.

That’s because the lone challenger, Robert Wallace, withdrew from the race earlier this month, leaving only the three incumbents on the Nov. 3 ballot.

That led Maricopa County School Superintendent Shelli Boggs to recommend the Nov. 3 FHUSD board election — like dozens of other board elections around the county — be canceled and to appoint incumbents Lillian Acker, Bernie Hoenle and Fran Murray to 4-year terms.
