I have noticed recently on my many walks around Fountain Park that the Fountain seldom works at the appointed hour. I have tried to take a photo of the flags with the Fountain in the background at 9 a.m. and the Fountain does not go up.
Today (May 19) at 9 a.m. the wind was not bad and one would expect to see the Fountain. I talked to a park employee, and he told me the wind shut down sensor has been reset to 5 mph - I just looked at the 15-day weather forecast and there is not a day that the wind speed is below 6 mph; in fact it hardly ever goes below 6 mph until well after sunset (when the Fountain is off for the night.)
Are we never going to see our beloved Fountain again? Please, for the benefit of the residents (we pay the bills), reset the wind sensor back to where it used to be.

Also, thank you to the two people who responded to the letter the week before that admonished the Town for supporting the National Day of Prayer. As thousands of others, I wanted to respond immediately, but then I thought - not only does this letter not deserve a response, it should never have been printed by our paper.
