I recently attended a 50th anniversary party for dear friends living in Houston, Texas.
Of the 50 guests in attendance, the majority were Catholic. My friend taught and was an administrator at St. Thomas, a Catholic University in Houston.
Among the guests were Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, one Sikh and perhaps some atheists. No one asked about religious affiliation at the door.

This intelligent, warm group of family and friends joined together to honor a couple who had a fabulous, productive, joyous, happy marriage for 50 years.
No lightning struck -- no bolts out of the blue --nothing bad happened because a group of intelligent, open-minded and fair people were joined together in one room.
Some in our beautiful community are trying to tear it apart because of their prejudice and lack of compassion for all human beings -- no matter what their faith.
