I was recently handed a FH Unites postcard giving me the opportunity to take part in the next chapter of Fountain Hills.
On the website is a beautiful picture of the fountain – minus the obtrusive pillars. I picked up the 2016 Community Guide – again the picture of the fountain shows no pillars. A stop in to pick up postcards at Walgreens – again no pillars on any of the postcards.
Does anyone else see the irony here? The lighting around the fountain is not only the worst idea I’ve seen in my 13 years in Fountain Hills but, for some reason, it never shows up when we “advertise” our town.

We have visitors coming from Tennessee next month. They have requested that we show them our Arizona night sky. Sadly, we will have to drive them away from Fountain Hills to see the night sky, which is completely lost in the glare of those ugly, obtrusive lights.
Shame on whoever made the decision to deface our beautiful park. It’s time to take them out so our Fountain Park looks like it does in the pictures.
