No on 205

Prop 205 is a joke, just like “medical” marijuana was and remains a farce.

Voters were fooled a few years ago into narrowly approving the “medical” initiative, so it’s important we don’t think that two wrongs make a right.

Prop 205 would allow for the production and sale of high-potency marijuana in the form of THC-laced candy and snacks. Yet they claim this isn’t marketing toward children and teens?

Legalization always increases teenage use, despite everyone’s good intentions. It comes down to basic supply and demand – more availability means more use.

Colorado teen marijuana use is 74 percent higher than the national average – even though the “legal” age is 21, the same age proposed here.

Studies show pot (THC) permanently damages the developing teenage brain in ways no other drug does.

“Medical” marijuana is already finding its way into the hands and bongs of our local young people.

The “Mary Jane” of today is significantly more potent than the weed Baby Boomers smoked in their Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze college days.

Not a gateway drug? Just ask any hardcore drug addict if that’s true or not.

Prop 205 protects marijuana-impaired drivers. Under the initiative, it is nearly impossible to prove a driver is impaired, unlike current DUI laws concerning alcohol.

Does it make you all warm and fuzzy knowing so many more impaired drivers will be on our roads with no consequences?

Legalizing pot will curtail drug cartel activities and dealing? Um, the cartels have already moved on because of legalization in some states and the whole “medical” thing.

Why do you think heroin is suddenly a big problem in the U.S. and it’s so cheap? The cartels will find new drugs to deal and new markets to reach if pot is legalized in Arizona.

Vote no on Prop 205.
