“The time has come to demand the Town Council do the job of solving community problems...I will campaign against them if they refuse to try.” Thompson’s words.
The Town Hall is open 11 hours a day, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., four days a week. What pressing business does Thompson have that must be done on a Friday? Emergency services are open 24/7. Many Federal offices are also closed on Fridays. This is to save energy and for cost efficiency.
In reference to the orange cone on Palisades near the medical plaza, Thompson does not have a clue. First, the streets department gives out curb repairs to outside contractors. They wait until they have enough of them to be cost effective. It is not because we don’t have enough money to fix it.

Some people remind me of the Willy Wonka movie. A girl demands to her father, “I want it and I want it now.”
It’s about time city, states and the feds cut out a lot of the pork and unnecessary spending. We are approaching a 20 trillion dollar deficit. Where does the list stop of worthy town entities? In the stimulus bill, they spent money on tunnels under streets so lizards could use them and not get smashed by cars.
Where is all this fast-aging infrastructure? In the past 25 years there have been at least six new plates, started and still being built. Eagles Nest and Mountain, Shadow Canyon, FireRock, which I believe does fix its own infrastructure. Twenty-five years and less are not considered old infrastructure. Our infrastructure will continue to be repaired as needed with the present town taxes and bonds.
The more money government gets the more they will spend on things we don’t need. No property tax.
