Feeling guilty? Know what you’re guilty of? Is your guilt real or false? What is guilt anyway?
Guilt is the conflict of believing you have done something you should not have done or conversely having not done something you believe should have been done whether it’s true or not. Most people react to their guilt with an apologetic conscience and try to resolve their conflicts in a repentant manner.
Accepting guilt from someone else’s standards or opinions is nothing more than an emotional response with potentially devastating effects. A classic example would be slavery in early America. Most don’t accept slavery, so to blame yourself today is a gross and ignorant error. Accepting false guilt from others is a hideous means of manipulation and a form of slavery in itself. You’re not guilty!

Collective (group) guilt is a perceived wrong that one group inflicts on everyone else. A prime example is the government blaming us for all the inequities of life. Then telling us how they will make us eradicate that guilt. More taxes, fewer liberties, obeying their value system, letting government decide what’s moral and what isn’t, etc. Is it working? Has your guilt been erased?
You’re not guilty!
Here’s an ugly truth. There’re actually people who lack the capacity to feel guilt. They’re called Sociopaths and are among those trying to exploit you. Stop punishing yourselves, put your guilts under the microscope and separate your true guilt from your false guilt and eliminate those vile goblins from your minds. Don’t teach your children that false guilt is an acceptable behavior.
You’re not guilty!
Ayn Rand: “The worst guilt is to accept an unearned guilt.”
What
s your unearned guilt?
False guilt confines our ability to act freely. False guilt steals our happiness. You’re not guilty!
