Occupational therapist receives certification

Monica Walters, occupational therapist at Spooner & Shaft Physical Therapy, has obtained her certified hand therapy certificate.
She has worked toward the goal for three years and passed the national examination in November.
This certification means that she has mastered all types of arm and neck injuries and their rehabilitation. Arizona only has about 100 certified hand therapists. About 6,000 exist worldwide.
Walters is a certified lymphatic therapist and provides care to clients who deal with lymphedema. She has been employed at Spooner & Shaft for three years but has been a licensed occupational therapist for 25 years with specialties in traumatic brain injury, orthopedics, hand and arm rehabilitation and lymphedema.
Walters is available for a 15-minute complimentary screening to assess candidates for therapy to help with hand pain or upper body needs. Call 480-837-2595 to schedule an appointment.
