In recent weeks I have read some letters to the editor from Henry Broge with mild amusement. There have been numerous responses to Henry’s letters from well-meaning conservatives who have tried to provide Henry with some facts and logic in hopes that he will consider them and become somewhat enlightened.
That’s what conservatives do -- they put forth a logical argument instead of screaming “racist” at every opportunity. That really gets old, doesn’t it? The problem is that too many folks, apparently including Henry, refuse to consider facts and logic because they are in direct conflict with their “feelings” on issues.

To a liberal, “feelings” trump facts and logic. Unfortunately, this kind of foolish thinking has put this country in a tragic dilemma.
So, you conservatives that have tried to help Henry have made a valiant effort, but it seems that it’s been to no avail. You just can’t rationalize with irrational folks like Henry. I think that the only thing left to do at this point is to let Henry continue to whistle himself off a cliff. It’s just an example of Darwinism at work. I can only hope that he doesn’t take the rest of us with him.
