OPINION – I must comment on an opinion that former Sheriff Joe Arpaio purportedly wrote in reference to his aid in helping prevent animal abuse.
Many of those who have resided in Maricopa County for some time are aware that, yes, this Sheriff was concerned with the plight of our sometimes besieged animal population. That is good, proper, and really part of that position he held.
Like too many, start with his reverence for Trump. Arpaio was instrumental in hosting an early Trump rally in Fountain Hills, and he is looking to burnish his Legacy. Unfortunately, for his “lost cause,” few will forget his turgid disregard for humankind, and that which renders one civilized. Arpaio’s legacy is one best relegated to the ashcan of history, with hope, even in deep red Arizona, of better.
