One last monsoon storm?

A last gasp of the monsoon for 2016 swept across Fountain Hills Thursday afternoon.

The first day of fall brought a storm that left one third of an inch of rain across the center of Fountain Hills. The Fountain Hills Fire Station on Palisades received .35-inch, the StoneRidge Dam collected .39-inch and .35 was recorded at SunRidge Dam. At The Times office on Laser Drive the rain gauge had about .35-inch.

The annual monsoon ends officially next Friday, Sept. 30. The seven-day forecast indicates the chance of rain for the next week is slim.
