Chaparral City Water Company and its parent company, EPCOR, will host an open house to provide the public with information regarding its proposed water rate increase before the Arizona Corporation Commission.
Company representatives will be at the Community Center from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.
“Current rates are based on costs from 2006, and much has changed in the seven years since,” said Jim McKee, vice president of corporate services for EPCOR Water (USA). “It’s important to us that our customers understand why we are requesting a change in rates and what’s next in the process.”

The company filed the request to increase rated for CCWC with the Arizona Corporation Commission on April 26, and on May 23, the ACC deemed the application sufficient to proceed through the rate process.
In June, EPCOR representatives told the Town Council the proposed revenue increase should be around 35 percent.
