OPINION — I couldn't agree more with Claire Sookman that we should not allow small cell infrastructure in residential areas.
It is bad enough that we have enabled one of the biggest killers of innocent Americans, many thousands of them, who had feelings, families and lives: drivers distracted with the addictive cell phone. And the insulting of our intelligence with the installation of very large cell towers disguised as fake pine trees and saguaro cactuses, all over the landscape. All for the addictive cellphone, that has transformed humans into silent, walking zombies with their faces buried in a tiny screen, oblivious to the world around them.
Society has been changed for the worse with this addictive device. And now we're going to allow cell infrastructure in residential areas in once-beautiful Fountain Hills? Why not just build an ugly tower, with all of its serious electromagnetic-radiation health risks, in every yard? Maybe that would provide adequate cell coverage.
