The chartreuse color, looking like painted sheet rock to me, attracted my attention. I took a picture, hoping it was a primer, but no! Several weeks later this unattractive color was joined by dark gray, light gray and white panels. But wait, the final touch, unbelievably, red trim and railings!

Now, to our artists reading this, I understand that, under different circumstances, these colors could be combined to produce pleasing results. However, in this situation, these color choices, in my opinion, are atrocious and have negatively affected the beauty of the Avenue of the Fountains.

Next is the view. To really get the picture, first take a good look at these buildings from the Avenue of the Fountains. Then take a walk or ride up to the top of Vista Del Lago, a road near the lower parking lot of Fountain Park. Look down at our lovely town where most buildings blend with the muted brown and beige colors of the desert. What stands out? The chartreuse of the above mentioned buildings. Whatever happened to the concept of blending in with the environment when these awful color combinations were applied?

Finally, look across Saguaro from Fountain Park. Observe the view of concrete, open underground parking facilities and the colors.

Other letter writers recently voiced their concerns and opposition to the building of a complex at Shea and Palisades. I am adding my voice in opposition to another structure, ill-advised, unwanted and possibly becoming another eyesore to our community. Readers, please become aware!
