Ordinances passed for Fountain Hills murals program

Sets standards and regulations

Murals on utility boxes around town have sparked interest from various businesses but, with no regulations in place, it prompted town staff to establish the Placemaking Strategy. 

During its meeting on June 2, the Fountain Hills Town Council approved zoning ordinances by a 7-0 vote that set forth standards and regulations for additional artwork around town. 

The Planning and Zoning Commission in April voted with contingency that artists selected reside in Arizona and the art’s integrity be reviewed by an appointed art commission.
